The club has become a major donor in both time and money to The South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Over the years the club has regularly held picnics and parties for the students. The support led the school to disignate a dormortory at the school the Lions Den. .

The South Dakota Lions Foundation has a mobile health screening unit. The unit is equipped to screen vision, hearing, blood sugar, blood pressure, and glaucoma. The Aberdeen Lions often help to man this unit whenever it is in our area.
The Aberdeen Lions Club does many projects in the community. Among these the club made a pledge of $14,000 to fund the Cowardly Lions Den at Aberdeen's theme park for children, The Land of OZ located at Wiley Park.

The Land of OZ was created after the book series by L. Frank Baum who was a resident of Aberdeen shortly before writing the famous book series. The cowardly lion himself was donated by Lion Ka Squire and his wife, Sally in honor of their late daughter-in-law. The club also gave Storybook land the "Lions Fountain."
